US Mint Coin Sales Figures Improve

US Mint coinsDemand for collector coins and sets improved from the prior US Mint sales report, with several proof sets and mint sets showing increases and silver Mint products rising slightly.

It was also the first report containing sales of the recently issued US Virgin Islands Quarters, which are available from the US Mint in bags and two-roll sets. The smaller 100-coin bags and rolls are selling better than the same product American Samoa quarters did during its the initial days. However, the 1,000-coin bags were slightly behind.

All Lincoln products picked up in sales as well. The US Mint Lincoln Coin & Chronicles Set goes on sale next week Thursday, Oct. 15, at noon Eastern Time. The sets are sure to spark some collector excitement and possibly sellout on day one.

Mint Sales Figures ImageThe first round of sales figures for US Virgin Islands Quarters are now available, as are the numbers for the newly launched US Mint Uncirculated Coin Set. The quarters are doing fine, the sets are off to the races.

First Spouse Coin Sales Figures Sales fell down for all but one of the ten available US Mint First Spouse Gold Coins, according to the latest Mint sales data.

US Mint Silver Coins Sales

Sales Stats imageSales of US Mint Silver Coins improved, rising from the prior week’s data that showed collector demand retreated slightly.

The biggest gainer was the 18-coin 2009 Silver Proof Set, which popped up another 14,352 to register year-to-date sales of 521,060. The previous weekly increase was about 1/3 lower at 9,432 (although enough to push the sets over 500K).
