US Mint Coin Sales Update: Mint Proof Sets Jump – Sept. 18

US Mint coinsThe clad 18-coin Proof Mint sets are shining even brighter this week. New US Mint figures show sales spiked 40,511 compared to last week’s gain of 27,913. The Silver Proof Set did not do as well, and probably won’t hit any milestones very soon.

One milestone hit, however, was the the 2009 Presidential Dollar Proof Set. It reached the 600K marker this week after growing by 3,196.

Sarah Polk Coins Lead in First Spouse Gold Weekly Sales

First Spouse Coin Sales Figures It’s no surprise the newly offered Sarah Polk coins were again the best sellers of the First Spouse Gold Coin series. The proof and uncirculated options rose by 216 and 463, bringing the totals to 1,137 and 2,147 respectively.

US Collector Silver Coin Demand Retreats

Sales Stats imageDespite an uptrend in silver prices during the last 2 1/2 weeks, American Eagle Silver Bullion Coin demand appears to be declining in September, according to the latest US Mint stats.

Silver Eagles advanced 450,000 last week. But the newest increase is a mere shadow by comparison with just 150,000 added. A total of 600,000 have been sold …

Mint Stats: American Samoa Bag First Option to Sell Out

Word came that the 1,000-coin bag of Philadelphia American Samoa quarters has sold out. This comes two days after the Sept. 13 date of the data listed in the box. Will the 1,499 number turn out to be the final number, or will it notch up to 1,500?
