US Mint sales figures were less than spectacular last week for most coin products. Factors such as a holiday shortened week weighed into the mix and the demand for collector coins retreated.

The 18-coin clad proof set numbers were still strong. 785,821 have now been grabbed from Mint store shelves since June 1. Letitia Tyler First Spouse coins were launched on Thursday, July 2, and performed reasonably well for the series. Nearly 3,000 were purchased by Sunday.

Mint Sales Figures ImageCollectors had more on their minds than buying coins last week, the latest US Mint figures reveal. Sales were modest, held in check by diversionary summer travel and the celebration of an extended 4th of July holiday weekend.

As has been the case for several weeks, the Mint 2009 Proof Set led in sales. Another 101,409 were purchased on top of the last report, bringing the total sold to 785,821. It looks like the million figure will be breached by month’s end…

First Spouse Gold Coins Sales

First Spouse Coin Sales Figures Letitia Tyler First Spouse Gold Coins have registered on the US Mint sales board. From their launch on Thursday, July 2, to Sunday, July 5, collectors purchased 1,853 proof and 1,020 uncirculated coins.

The figures are more than respectable given the recent sales history of the series and considering they were released immediately prior to the 4th of July holiday weekend.

US Mint Silver Coin Sales

Sales Stats imageThere is little surprise in learning that last week’s US Mint silver coin sales show a general decline in demand. Collectors were, after all, off and enjoying the recent three-day holiday weekend for the 4th of July.

Sales in four of the six silver Mint offerings fell compared to the prior week. Experiencing modest gains in week-over-week tallies were uncirculated Braille dollars in the easy-open capsule and the 2008 Silver Proof Set.

Mint Stats: Bullion Sales Strong as June Concludes

Bullion American Eagle sales ended June on a strong note. Sales were up by 3,000 for the one-ounce gold piece and by 300,000 for the silver ounce.
