Gold and silver numismatic product sales were mixed, according to the latest US Mint sales figures. Buffalo proof coins faired better than all of the First Spouse coins combined, and the 18-coin Silver Proof Set climbed above both of them. In fact, the silver set climbed above its prior two week gains. More than a dozen products enjoyed gains above last week’s report, and many of them were annual proof sets.
The Disabled American Veteran Silver Dollars continued to sell strong, tacking on another 16,000 proofs and 5,000 uncirculated. The new 2010 Presidential $1 Coin Proof Set was the second biggest seller of the week, adding another 15,000 to its total.

Action picked up for numismatic coins, according to the latest US Mint sales report. The prior report showed that only three products garnered week-over-week improvements. More than a dozen passed that barrier in the latest round of figures. On the notable front, 2009 Gold Proof Buffalo coins increased by 598 compared to the previous 384 and are nearing 50,000 in sales. In fact, as of Sunday their total was at 48,994 which very likely means the 50K ceiling was actually topped by Tuesday or Wednesday. First Spouse Sales Dip Before 2010 Fillmore Coin Launch
According to the most recent US Mint sales figures, demand declined for First Spouse Gold Coins. Total sales fell again, for the second straight week. Just 127 were added, compared to 193 and 507 in prior weeks. As far as most popular goes, the Margaret Taylor coins took top honors. The proof version sold the most, picking up 39 and beating last week’s increase of 30. The new US Mint weekly sales report shows solid gains for collector silver products, and decent traction for bullion American Silver Eagles.
